I never said it wasn't beautiful.

But even a pretty rose can be improved.

Art is all about improving. If they can't take critique they should get off an art site. A serious artist would take critique, a serious artist WANTS critique. Hell, a serious artist EATS critique for breakfast.

If they aren't a serious artist, there is no point in being here. Yes, my heart is black for giving advice. I'm just such a cold being for not blindly praising someone so that they'll never get better at all.

So, the only reason someone gives advice is because they're arrogant? That's a swell worldview. Too bad it's wrong. The reason people give criticism is to help the artist : they will not get better if all they do is get blind uninformed praise from their friends.

I don't think I'm better than any artist here. I need to improve just as much as anyone else. Because, again, real artists want to. Also : Facts aren't the same things as opinions.

You shouldn't be shrugging it off as "Oh, perhaps we can't do it~" because that's lazy. This is an art site. If you're not serious about art, and you don't want to improve on your art, you're only here because it's some stupid fad among anime fans. It's like every single anime fan who can draw a line onto paper needs a deviantart account just because.

So which is it, are you part of some vapid trend or are you serious artists? Pick.

If you pick the latter, here's shocking news : Critique is part of art.

I can go into a long, long list of critiques for this picture, but it's easier to say "you need art classes" because everything art classes teaches you basically covers that list.

For someone to be on an art site..I don't think it's irrelevant or mean to suggest that they actually attend some art classes and get some actual art knowledge, if it is obvious to even an unobservant eye that there are some glaring problems with the picture and the skills of the artist.

Getting better at something you apparently are passionate enough about to post onto a public forum on an art community is really logical. If you don't want actual art advice or replies from those who have a mind for actual art...get off. Try Photobucket.

Just a bit:

Anime arts are like the other arts here... It isn't easy to draw them, you have to learn it. And other arts... for example, to draw a normal tree, you HAVE to learn. You have to learn for everything!

An I know, the critique is part of art, but if you don't like this art, you SHOULDN'T comment it! Just leave it and that's all.

But please, close this discussion... I think, we have to get off both...
